Chai With Captain Hasmatullah Shahidi - Orange County California
On Sunday, November 26, 2023, the Afghan-American Community Center (AACC) hosted a fundraising event at the Islamic Society of Orange County featuring the esteemed Captain of the Afghanistan Cricket Team, Hashmitullah Hashimi, for an event called 'Chai with Captain Hashimi'.
Captain Hashimi received a warm reception from Afghans and other members of the Muslim community at ISOC. He expressed gratitude to the audience and appealed for support in aiding Afghan refugees forcibly removed from Pakistan and currently stranded in makeshift camps in Torkham. The community responded generously, enabling AACC to raise $15,060 toward this cause.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and donated. AACC continues to everyone to contribute and assist our fellow Afghans facing difficulty.

In addition, we are grateful to all those who pledged to help the Afghan refugees who are forcibly removed by the Pakistani authorities in Torkham in recent days.
